Tuesday 8/27 & Wednesday 8/28

Tuesday and Wednesday we jumped back into Autodesk's Maya.  We reviewed how to create, move, rotate and scale forms. In addition, we learned how to use vertex's to manipulate forms into new shapes.  Students learned the difference between Polygon and NURBS forms and how the manipulate differently (Rigid vs. Smooth).  The students also explored more of the Maya interface by learning what the Perspective and 4 view are as well as how to use the keyboard and mouse to move the view around the screen.

Once class tutorial was over, students were put to a contest.  Who can make the best car.  Using the small amount students have learned so, they will create, manipulate and move forms together to create a complete car.  The winner (voted on by classmates) will win a prize!

Students will have the rest of Tuesdays/Wednesdays class to work on their car, as well as the next class period.

Also- Today we started our daily ARTiFacts!  The first one is listed below.

Wednesday-Monday 8/21-Monday 8/26

On Wednesday/Thursday we began with taking notes on the Elements of Art and Principles of Design PowerPoint.  If you need to see this PowerPoint again, it is located on Cole under "Files/Links".  Student then created their own PowerPoint using the Elements and Principles notes.  One slide for each Element and each Principle with the addition of two title slides "Elements of Art" and "Principles of Design"  Each slide (besides the title slides) must have a title, definition and a picture to show me they understand what each element and principle means.  Students will finish this project on Friday 8/23 and upload their PowerPoint into DropBox on Cole.  The DropBox is located under assignments and is titled "Elements and Principles DropBox"  Click on "Elements and Principles DropBox" and click "submit assignment" on the right side.  Click on the File tab and attach your assignment and then click "submit."  Once your project is submitted, you are done.  We will be moving on to Maya next class!
